First, Grant overheard a golfer complaining about the fact that we aerified the front nine greens and hadn’t topdressed with sand and he wasn’t going to play here. So sad and of little knowledge on how we work. IF HE HAD PLAYED he would have realized that the greens are not in bad shape at all. Also, IF HE HAD PLAYED he would have started on the back side where we had topdressed the greens and the only open holes are from the sand settling into the holes after watering. IF HE HAD PLAYED he would have played the front nine after we had topdressed the greens first thing in the morning. IF HE HAD PLAYED would have seen two if not three guys out topdressing and dragging sand in the greens most of which were sanded twice today. IF HE HAD PLAYED he would have realized that the greens are in pretty good condition since we aerified yesterday. IF HE HAD PLAYED he would have shot about the same score he usually does and it would have had nothing to do with the greens but a flubbed chip, a bladed wedge and a topped drive. But that would have been IF HE HAD PLAYED. He didn’t. He just heard we aerified and started ranting and complaining without any investigation or actually playing the greens.
Go out and play golf, it was a beautiful day today. Tomorrow should be about the same. Then when you are done with your round go ahead and complain about the greens. I can take it. You will be thankful that we aerified later in the year when we still have suitable grass and later in life when we still have suitable greens for putting. So to the guy who had a complaint I would listen to your comments IF YOU HAD PLAYED.
