We aerified the back-9 today. Let’s just say we got done. With one aerifier throwing a chain 5 passes into the first green, the Steiner blower breaking a belt, losing the governor off the Cushman pulling the rollers, losing a cotter pin off of the core harvester, and having one of the push blowers being difficult to start. Oh yeah, parts falling off of my aerifier. (Didn’t slow me down any.) We finished about an hour or so later than normal with a good drying day but we finished.
We watched the radar and we were in light rain all day but didn’t get wet. Tomorrow we are scheduled to topdress the back nine so plan on having a lot of sand on the greens to try to get the holes filled in. If it doesn’t rain we will be good, if it does rain I don’t have a back up plan yet for topdressing.
