10-14-12 This Job Blows…

As you can imagine with the last few days of frosty mornings the leaves are starting to fall in record numbers.  In fact just today I noticed that the cottonwood trees are almost completely finished with their leaf drop.  The maples are from bright colors to green depending on their variety.  The grey birch are almost completely done around #6 green but the trees behind #8 are just starting.

With all of the leaves falling, the last four mornings I have been firmly seated on our Steiner Blower trying to get the leaves off the greens for our mowers to cut.  I then hit the surrounding areas so you won’t lose golf balls if by chance you fail to achieve the goal of putting it in the green.

On days like today, with the wind blowing, I will park the leaves in an out-of-the-way area until the breezes are in a more favorable direction for me to move them to the tree lines or get them mulched by the mowers.

In any case, moving leaves with the Steiner Blows…Actually at about 150 MPH!
