Two weeks ago we had new energy-efficient windows installed. You pay a lot of money and since the weather changes the temperature fluctuates (It’s an Ohio thing…this week in the 20’s…next week we are forecasted to hit 60+.) you never really know how much of an impact the new windows will have.
This morning I had the answer! They work! And very well indeed. We took 4″ of snow yesterday and since it has been cold, snow accumulates on almost all flat surfaces. Well today when I looked out the windows onto the brick window sill I had snow up to the screens.
Now to most that may not be a big deal. But for this house it is. We have lived here 9-1/2 years and I have never seen snow to the windows. It has always been melted away from the heat escaping around the frames.
Well, now I know. My new (and expensive) replacement triple pane low E glass vinyl windows work!
