Since snow is upon us much sooner than normal we are doing our scheduled winter work. That means any scheduled oil changes and tune-ups that we have parts for will get completed. We will grease and inspect the reels to see if they need to be sharpened or bedknives replaced and then off to more vehicles.
The first thing we are working to complete is putting on new wooden beds on our 8′ trailers. We need to replace the rotting plywood and we are upgrading to 2×8 stock to maintain their strength. We are also changing the studs to put on cart tires rather than trailer tires. Cart tires are much wider and will do less damage as we use these to haul heavy sod for renovations.
After that we are upgrading our old sprayer to accommodate boomless nozzles for more precision spraying around trees and rope stakes. We are also attempting to re-manufacture the old foam marking systems to see if we can get them to work again.
We will also be painting stuff but that can wait for another day.
